Earlier this month, the Premier League returned to action with players being seen wearing “Black Lives Matter” in place of their names on the back of the jerseys as well as a special patch on the sleeve. In an act of solidarity with the international anti-racism movement, players wore the jerseys for the first week of the restart. The shirts will certainly be in high demand for the powerful message that it sent around the world as well as scarcity representing a key piece of history. Earlier this week, UK residents had a chance to enter a raffle for only £5 giving them the opportunity to win a signed match-worn shirt from each Premier League team.
Organized by #PlayersTogether, the Shirts for Change raffle will raise funds for the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Foundation, a charity stands for equal opportunity for all, regardless of race or background. For over 20 years, they’ve helped young people from disadvantaged backgrounds inspiring and enabling them to succeed in the career of their choice.
