Thursday’s have kept football fans busy with a fully stacked schedule of fixtures. One of the hardest problems is picking out which game to watch if your team isn’t involved. As a neutral, this can be one of the toughest decisions, but these games have produced a lot of memorable moments. With that said, we recap some of our favorite kits from clubs featured in the Europa League.
This list could’ve been dominated by kits from “bigger” clubs like AC Milan, Tottenham, Roma, Arsenal, Napoli, etc. However, we wanted to include the lesser-known clubs, while still featuring some of our favorite shirts. Feel free to drop a comment to let us know what you think of the list and if we missed any shirt that should’ve been included.
This list isn’t exclusively featuring kits worn in the Europa League or special third shirts, it’s a general list for the clubs in the EL.
10. LASK LINZ – HOME
Austrian club LASK dons black and white for their home shirt along with several sponsors featured throughout. While you’ll find plenty of sponsors on the shirt, the color combination is enough for us to include it. We’re fans of the subtle black and white stripes coupled with the main sponsor in red. The design won’t be winning any awards, but it’s clean and easy to wear. Click here to purchase.
9. RANGERS F.C. – AWAY
Steven Gerrard’s side is already off to a strong start in the Europa League having won their first two fixtures. Rangers are set to face off Benfica later this week with what should be an exciting match-up. The Scottish club has looked the part this season with their Away kit, which comes in white with blue and orange accents. Contrasting trim on the sleeve and shoulders complete the look of this kit by Castore. It’s now available here.
8. STANDARD LIEGE – HOME
Red and gold might be one of our all-time favorite color combinations which is why we had no second thoughts about including Standard Liege’s Home kit. We love the unique brushstroke design you see along the left and right sides of the shirt. The bold white line down the right side of the shirt is much more pronounced and ties nicely with the sponsor and gold embroiled New Balance logo. It’s definitely a kit that has gone under the radar and hopefully not for too long. Add it to your collection by getting it here.
7. RAPID VIENNA – AWAY
The second Austrian club featured on this list, Rapid Vienna’s Away kit was well received at release and for good reason. It is made up of red and blue with vertical and horizontal stripes. The bold sponsor works on this shirt and is not too aggressive like some others we’ve seen this season. However, the one drawback is the club crest which is not modified to match the colors of the shirt. Had it to be updated in a gold or white outline, it would’ve suited the shirt much better. Regardless, it’s definitely been a fan favorite. Head to the club’s online shop to get yours.
6. BENFICA – HOME
While Benfica’s Home shirt might feel more like Manchester United to their loyal fans, they might grow more fond of the shirt as the season goes on if the club continues to perform in Europe. This kit mixes red with black on the sponsor and shoulder stripes, while gold is used for the adidas logo, club crest and sponsor on the back. It looks even better with a gold name set so you definitely won’t want to sleep on this kit. It’s now available here.
5. BAYER LEVERKUSEN – HOME
You’ll definitely notice a reoccurring theme from here on and out and it’s darker kits for the most part. We’ll always prefer black or blue shirts to other colors which is why you’ll see a few of these kits in the second part of this list. One of our favorites from Europa League clubs is Bayer Leverkusen’s Home shirt. Sporting black with tonal stripes, red trim, and grey detailing on the shoulders, it’s hard to fault this shirt. The crest might be our favorite as it fits perfectly with this color scheme. Get it today by clicking here.
4. PAOK – THIRD
Blackout kits have been all the rage, however, we like to see some white on the shirt much like PAOK’s Third shirt. The Macron and club crest come in black while the sponsor is white. We could’ve done without the heart-shaped that fades in, but it still ranks high on our list despite not being solid. Grab it today by clicking here.
3. OGC NICE – HOME
This was a tough decision as we were quite fond of both the Home and Third kits from Nice for the 2020/21 season, however, it is their Home shirt that won out in the end. The shirt is as close to perfect as you can get with a collar, gradient stripes, and contrasting branding. If you’re able to add a name set, the shirt gets even that much better with a stunning design. This is one shirt you won’t want to overlook this season and can be found at Nice’s web store.
2. LILLE – THIRD
From one French club to another, Lille’s Third kit might be the most controversial selections on this list, but it’s just something about it that we can’t get enough of. It’s extremely simple in design with white and black on the front of the shirt and red and blue detailing on the sleeves. It’s a muted style complemented by just the smallest addition of color, but it works so well. If you’re also a fan of this shirt, you’ll be able to purchase it here.
1. PSV – THIRD
PSV’s Third shirt might not be unique enough to warrant a top spot on certain lists, but to us, it’s just perfect. This black kit includes the popular pattern Puma has used quite often this season while adding a white collar and red on the sleeve trim. However, it might be this combination with the PSV crest and sponsor that ties it all together. We’ll rock it all day long and happy to make it our top pick. If you haven’t purchased it yet, you can get it here.
